5. Survivor’s “Rats and Snakes” speech

The first season of Survivor came to a dramatic conclusion when ousted contestant Sue Hawks made one of the most vile and impassioned speeches in reality television history. As a jury member at the final tribal council she referred to the remaining contestants, Richard and Kelly, as a rat and a snake, commenting that the rat should eat the snake. She went on to spew her hatred toward Kelly by saying that, if she was dying of thirst in the desert, Hawks wouldn’t offer her a sip of water and that she would enjoy seeing Kelly eaten by vultures. Though the ranting earned Kelly a bit of sympathy with other jury members, Richard, the rat, still took home the prize.
