We'll Never Be FriendsTuesday, August 19 2008 |
In the Season 4 Premier Lauren went on a date with an old flame from high school. Lo and Lauren attempted to improve their relationship with Audrina by throwing her a birthday party, but the outcome wasn’t what they hoped. Heidi's sister Holly came to town.

Whitney Port got a new job at People’s Revolution. Lauren Conrad was there visiting her. She mentioned that she was trying to keep the peace at home, between her and Audrina Patridge. LC said she and Lo Bosworth were going to throw Audrina a birthday party that week in hope that it would smooth things out at home. Lauren told Whitney about a guy she was going on a date with that night. His name is Doug and she knew him in high school. She said Doug went to a different school, but she kind of dated him and was his prom date. Lauren said she just happened to run into him the previous week. The girls agreed that it’s a small world. Lauren said that the last guy she dated for more than just one date was Brody. That was before her dramatic relationship with Jason. LC tapped her wrist and said, “So, it’s about time.”
Heidi Montag walked into Bolthouse Offices with her co-worker Kimberly. Heidi said that her sister was coming to town and that unfortunately it was the worst possible time because she and her boyfriend, Spencer Pratt just moved back in with each other. Heidi said she hadn’t told Spencer that her sister was coming and she didn’t tell her sister that Spencer is living with her again. Kimberly said, “You should probably tell them sooner rather than later.” Heidi said she was just going to go home and act like it’s no big deal when she tells Spencer.
Audrina was at work at Epic Records. She told her friend Chiara about the birthday pool party that Lauren was planning for her that weekend. She invited Chiara to go. Chiara was surprised that Lauren was doing that for Audrina. Audrina acknowledged that Lauren was trying to make an effort. Her friend asked, “Is she just throwing it to try and release the tension?” Audrina said, “Mm Hm.” And shook her head yes. Audrina said, “I mean, I don’t know if Lo’s going to be in on it.” Chiara asked her how that situation was going. Audrina said, “Lo’s always super bitchy. That’s just how she is.”

Heidi got home to find her sister Holly and boyfriend, Spencer sitting on the couch looking uncomfortable about the surprise visit. Heidi gave her sister a big hug and then Spencer got up and said, “I’m gonna let you ladies catch up with each other.” Heidi said, “I better check on him for a sec.” She got up and followed Spencer into the other room.
Spencer was upset because Heidi’s sister was in town. He didn’t understand why she had to come when he and Heidi were just getting their relationship back on track. Heidi said, “She’ll just be here for a couple of days. She’s my sister. What was I supposed to do?” Spencer said, “Oh well, there’s nothing we can do now.” Heidi said, “Just please be nice.” Spencer replied, “That’s my middle name.” Heidi rolled her eyes.
Lo and Lauren were hanging out at their house. LC was getting ready for her date with Doug. Lo told her that her dress was pretty. Lo said, “I would totally date you!” Lauren said, “Would you ask me out again?” Lo said, “I don’t know.” Lauren crossed her fingers. Lo said, “If it goes well you should invite him to Audrina’s birthday.” Lauren said, “I think you and Audrina should have a fun night tonight.” Lo said, “Yah, well.” She puckered her lips.

Doug came to get Lauren. They got in his SUV and drove off. She asked him if he was hungry and he said he was starving. She asked if he was adjusting well to LA and he said, “Yah.” Lauren asked him if he remembered how she used to drive by his house and call him on the phone and say, “I’m driving by. Come out.” She said, “How much of a dork was I?” He laughed and said he remembered that. They went to dinner at the Red Pearl Kitchen in LA. They ordered drinks and she got a fuzzy dragon and he got a beer. Lauren said, “I think a drink says a lot about you.” Doug asked, “What does my drink say about me?” Lauren said, “That you’re a guys guy.” Doug asked, “Is that a good thing?” Lauren just shrugged her shoulders. He told her that she looked gorgeous and asked if they could get together again some time. She invited him to Audrina’s birthday party and said he could meet some of her friends. He said, “Sure, tell me when and I’ll be there.”
Back at Heidi and Spencer’s apartment Heidi and her sister were in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Spencer came out from the bedroom and Heidi’s sister Holly asked him if he’d like some breakfast. She had made some just for him. He said, “That would be a pass. I’m not hungry right now.” Heidi said, “Why don’t you try to be nice to my sister. She’s being nice to you.” Spencer said, “Why don’t you mind your own business?” Heidi said, “That’s my sister and don’t be rude.” Spencer said, “Oh well, you two ladies have a good day, I’m going back to bed, good night.” He walked back into his room and slammed the door. Heidi said, “That was so rude. I’m so embarrassed. I’m sorry.”

Guests started showing up for Audrina’s birthday party. Doug came in with Lauren’s friend Frankie. They were dressed in Lakers shirts and Lauren said they looked like dorks. Swarms of people came in and Lo and Lauren were in the kitchen getting things ready. Lo said, “There are so many people.” Lauren said, “Be the charming Lo that I know and love.” Lo looked very insecure. Lo asked Audrina who she invited. She said she invited Justin, but wasn’t sure if he was coming. She also invited a bunch of people that she goes out with. She said, “You know when I go out and you’re like, where is she going?” Lo said, “Well, we’re just going to have to enjoy the company that comes.” Both girls looked uncomfortable.
Heidi took her sister Holly to Prive Salon for an LA make-over. Holly asked Heidi why she didn’t tell mom and dad about everything going on with Spencer. Holly said that Heidi used to tell their mom everything. Heidi said, “Well, you grow up and I don’t need mom and dad to know everything about my relationship.” Heidi said, “I would think that you guys would trust me.” Holly said, “We do trust you.” Heidi said, “Right.” Holly asked Heidi when she saw Lauren last. Heidi said it was a long time ago. Holly asked, “You don’t even miss her a little?” Heidi said, “I don’t know. What happens, happens.” Holly got a strange look on her face and Heidi asked her what she was thinking about. Holly said, “I’m just concerned. I don’t want you to have to sacrifice anything else for your relationship.” Heidi responded by saying, “I’m not.” Holly said, “Yah.”
Justin-Bobby showed up at the part and gave Audrina a big hug. Lauren was walking by Doug and he said, “Come here and sit down for a minute. I haven’t seen you much.” He pulled her on his lap. Lauren said, “I’m sorry. I’m the host.” Doug replied, “Well, I’m the cook.” Lauren thanked him for cooking. She got uncomfortable and said, “I have to go find Lo.” She got off his lap and walked away. Lauren went inside the house and Lo came walking down the stairs into the kitchen. Lauren said, “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you for like an hour.” Lo replied, “I’ve been upstairs playing with the dog.” Lauren said, “I need you down here.” Lo said, “I know. I just don’t know any of Audrina’s friends.” Lauren said, “I know, but this is the part where we need to make an effort or it’s just not gonna get better.” Lo said, “I feel like we are making an effort and it’s not reciprocated on her end. We’ve been in the kitchen all day doing stuff for her.” Lauren said, “I know. I’m in the same position.” Lo said, “It’s just uncomfortable.” Lo said she wasn’t going to be put in that situation again. Lauren went to talk with her friend Frankie. She told him she was stressed because Lo and Audrina aren’t getting along. Lauren said she hadn’t hung out with Doug at all either. She said the day was a disaster. She just wanted them all to be like they used to be. Meanwhile, Audrina was having a great time hanging out with her friends.
Heidi and Spencer said goodbye to Holly. Holly mentioned that she was thinking about moving to LA. Heidi thought that was a great idea and asked her where she’d stay. She said she hadn’t thought about all that, but wondered if she could stay with Heidi for a little while. Heidi said, “Ok.” Spencer didn’t look very happy. After Holly left, Spencer asked Heidi why she’d say it was ok for her sister to stay with them. She said, “Because she’s my sister. Why isn’t it ok if she just stays with us for a week or two.” Spencer said, “You know it’s not going to just be for a week or two.” Heidi said, “Yes, it will.” Spencer said, “It’s ridiculous.” Spencer walked away shaking his head and Heidi watched him walk away with a disgusted look on her face.

Lauren and Whitney hung out the next day and Lauren told Whitney about the party. She said how stressed she was about the Lo and Audrina situation and that she totally ignored Doug at the party and feels so bad about it. She said, “It’s such a frustrating situation. I told Lo she has to talk to Audrina cause I can’t take this anymore.”
Lo went to see Audrina in the guest house. She said she wanted to apologize for being absent at her birthday. Lo said, “The issue is that we all moved in with the idea that we were all going to be friends and the relationship was going to grow and it just hasn’t hasn’t.” Audrina said, “It hasn’t happened at all.” Lo said, “I feel like we’ve tried and you haven’t given much back to us.” Audrina said, “I know, I just don’t feel like I click with you. I feel like I’m always on the outside.” Lo said, “I don’t think that I put you on the outside.” Audrina said, “I know that you and Lauren grew up together and were always friends and I was just so used to me and Lauren always being in the apartment and being able to tell each other everything.” Lo said she felt that the blame was being put on her for Audrina and Lauren drifting apart. Lo said she didn’t think that was fair. Audrina said that she felt that Lo gives off a negative attitude and Audrina deals with people based on the vibes she gets from them. She said she didn’t feel like trying anymore. Lo said, “There’s like a strong part of me that really wants to be friends with you and I think that Lauren wants you guys’ relationship to get better and for you guys to get back to the point where you were.” Audrina said, “I just feel like I have friends who actually treat me good and I feel like you don’t do that.” Lo said, “I feel like we’re making an effort and you don’t want to put as much back. Audrina said, “It’s just like, I don’t care. We’ll never be friends.” Lo said, “Ok.” Lo got up and said, “I’m gonna leave you to your place.” She walked out the door. Audrina sat on the couch and looked unaffected by her conversation with Lo.
