Biography
Lauren Conrad would have never guessed that she would be considered a teen star. But when MTV made her an offer to have her own reality show, life has thrusted her into the spotlight the world over.
Born and raised in Laguna Beach, California, Lauren is the oldest of three kids. Her father, Jim, is an architect, and her mother, Kathy, her husband's business.
It was during her senior year in high school in 2004 when MTV gave Lauren her own show LAGUNA BEACH: THE REAL O.C. The show became a hit and Lauren became a star.
Nielson ratings showed that it was the most watched TV show for the night among people 12-34 years old. While LAGUNA BEACH: THE REAL O.C. focused on the new senior class, Lauren appeared throughout the season with her fellow graduates.
After graduating from Laguna Beach High School in 2006, Lauren decided to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California and major in Fashion Design. In addition to college, she began an internship at Teen Vogue and landed on the cover, making her the first intern at the magazine to do so.
THE HILLS premiered on the air in 2006 with enormous ratings and is one of the top shows on MTV. Along with the cover of Teen Vogue, Lauren has appeared on the cover of the August 2006 issue of Seventeen Magazine.
THE HILLS is a spin-off show that will continue to follow Lauren as she moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion. Cameras have followed her every move as she attends classes at the Institute and as she works as an intern at Teen Vogue. The show also captures the lives of her friends, including her roommate Heidi, her neighbor Audrina, and her co-worker Whitney.
