Comfort and Thayne - Eliminated 7/10
On Thursday July 10, the SYTYCD results show revealed our top 10 finalists. And they are: Joshua Allen, Twitch Boss, Courtney Galiano, Chelsie Hightower, Mark Kanemura, Jessica King, Gev Manoukian, Kherington Payne, Katee Shean, and William Wingfield. Also eliminated this week were dancers Comfort Fedoke and Thayne Jasperson.
Thayne Jasperson was so close to making the Top 10. In the latest elimination, which proved to be his last dance on the show, the judges decided to send him home. Thayne landed in the bottom three for the fourth time this past week and, up against Will Wingfield and Twitch Boss, the judges didn't seem to have an easy time eliminating him. Nigel Lythgoe commented this was one week; he wished he could send home 2 girls and keep all 3 guys! This will not be the last we see of Thayne, as he's recently spoken about his dance background, his upcoming movie, and a little inside info about the upcoming tour.
His partner, Comfort Fedoke, was also sent packing. After a disappointing performance last Wednesday night, judge Mia Michaels said that she would have to back off from supporting Comfort, the hip hop dancer. When she found herself in the bottom 3 for the fourth time in a row, the judges couldn't save her any longer and eliminated her from the competition.
Kourtni and Matt - Eliminated 7/3
The contestants eliminated on 7/3/08 were Kourtni Lind and Matt Dorame. Here is a little background on each of them as well. The minute Kourtni Lind hit 18, she headed to try out for So You Think You Can Dance. On her first try, she made it to Vegas and through to the Top 20. She has studied at her mother's dance studio since the age of 3 and graduated high school early to get her dance career started. She was paired up with Matt Dorame this season on So You Think You Can Dance and they found themselves in the bottom group more often than they would have liked.
Matt Dorame has had a few days to process his elimination from So You Think You Can Dance. He and partner Kourtni Lind were sent home on the live elimination show airing on 7/3, just two weeks shy of making the Top 10. Making it that far is a goal for all of the dancers, as it means that they make the national tour. Still, Matt accepted the judges' decision and has no regrets about his time on the show.
