The Mole - Show Updates

The Mole is a reality television game show which was originally created in 1999 by Woestijnvis and broadcast on BNN in the Netherlands. It was conceived by Michiel Devlieger, Bart de Pauw, Tom Lenaerts and others, and the format was later licensed in 40 countries.

Three To Go: One More Show

Three remaining players enjoy playing the role of a spy as they diffuse a bomb set to go off and destroy $50,000. As they run through the city of Buenos Aires completing tasks for their last mission the players begin to feel the effects of weeks spent on the show.

Craig is Paul-free and loving it.

“I am in the final three and Paul’s not here, I love this game,” Craig laughs maniacally. “I now have a fifty-fifty chance of taking home all the money.”

Nicole says even though she spent 90 percent of the game hating Paul, her victory isn’t as sweet as she thought it would be.

Mark feels fortunate that a lot of things have gone his way, he is still in the game and it is amazing, he says.

Jon explains to viewers that after playing the game for over a month, Craig, Nicole and Mark are the final players. With the finish line in sight, they have just two missions left to observe each other and figure out who the mole is.

At breakfast, the players chat. “So now you’re going to self-execute, right?” Craig asks Nicole.

Nicole tells the camera she really believes Craig is the mole and if he isn’t, she will literally fall off her chair. Mark says he really doesn’t know and never has, but he doesn’t think either one of them are targeting him. Craig says Mark is at the top of his list but he still isn’t really sure.

Players discuss how to diffuse the
bomb in the Tick, Tock, Boom mission.

The mission Tick,Tock,Boom has a price tag of $50,000. A bomb is connected to the $50K cash and the trio has to diffuse it by solving a complex puzzle. They have to determine which wire to cut to stop the bomb by using items that are placed in the room; world locations, a giant clock, a series of letters on the wall and a glass board with blank spaces on it, as well as a hidden item that is key to unlocking the entire puzzle.

Craig finds the hidden time zone map that helps them calculate the different times they need to decipher the letters and arrange them in such a way that it gives them the correct clue to diffusing the bomb.

Mark and Nicole comment on how dumb they look when they don’t think they will figure it out. But Jon points out to viewers that they were headed in the right direction.

Craig figures out that the giant clock in the middle of the room can be used to point at the different letters on the wall.

Mark thinks Nicole is acting suspicious by all the mistakes she made. And Craig says he doesn’t know if she is trying to act mole-ish or if she is the mole, as she has done both in the past.

Mark notes that if Nicole is the mole, “you can’t stop her from messing up the mission.”

Nicole makes a few mistakes when
using the time zone map.

After unscrambling the letters, the trio gets, “Clue: Cut ---- ---- is red + blue.” So, they concentrate on finding a purple wire to cut. They cut the purple wire with 21 seconds left on the clock.

The players add $50,000 to the pot, bringing its total to $418,000.

The players reminisce about the mission and how much they enjoyed playing a spy role. Mark says the Craig, “You are now an international man of mystery.” They all laugh.
Nicole says that was her all-time favorite mission. She is in the top three, even if she doesn’t know who the mole is she has kicked ass, “I’m a bad-ass,” she says.

The last mission, Three to Tango, has the players using clues to figure out a location they need to get to. Once there, they call Jon and are assigned a task to complete. They take a picture to validate their task and move on to the next one, three tasks are to be assigned. This mission’s price tag is $75,000, but the winner can opt to take the Mole’s dossier in lieu of adding $75,000 to the pot.

Nicole says she is done with the running. “There should be no more running, sweating, squatting, jumping, trudging, dangling, nothing,” she complains.

Mark is concerned because Craig has been studying the city since they had arrived there. And Craig does decipher his first clue immediately. He has to find a shop on Florida Street that would let him try on a leather coat and take a picture of himself to send to Jon.

Nicole seems to fumble through her clue and misses an important part of the task, which is to “get” a flag, all the while she keeps taking her picture with a flag on a pole. Jon does not accept her picture and she argues that she did what she was supposed to, tells him she isn’t going to argue with him anymore and hangs up the phone. He calls her back and says, “You didn’t hang up on me, did you?” Eventually she figures out that she has to “get” a flag in hand.

Mark is the first to complete
the Three to Tango mission.

Mark runs around town and comments that if Craig beats him then he has been lying about his ambulatory handicap. Nicole tries to pass off a hot fudge sundae as a dulce de leche, Jon tells her his spies are everywhere and she has been caught.

Mark makes it back to Jon first. Meanwhile, Craig has been running around the city and finally gets the identity of the last location, which is the Calatrava Bridge, a place he has wanted to visit since they got there. Nicole never even finishes her tasks.

Since Mark was first to complete the mission he has the choice of adding the $75,000 to the pot or to take the Mole’s dossier. He chooses the dossier.

Even though no money is added to the pot, Jon says they are adding $1,500 to it to round it up to $420,000.

At the last supper, Jon asks the players what is most memorable for each player. Craig says he faced a lot of fears that he didn’t even know he had and he feels extremely proud of what he has done. Nicole says the bungee jump and doing it with such unexpected flair. Mark says the game itself has been challenging, especially emotionally it was a lot harder than he thought.

The final quiz has 20 questions. Nicole says she is not confident about taking it. Craig says he is rundown and weary but he is going to do the best he can. Mark says he has to be as accurate as possible while moving as quickly as he can.

The players finish the quiz but we won’t find out until next week which player is executed. Stay tuned as we finally find out who is The Mole and re-visit with all the contestants as they reunite for the season’s finale.
