A Reality Bug Exclusive Interview- Kristen Willeumier

Kristen on The Mole

As promised, RealityBug.com got a chance to chat with Kristen about her experience on The Mole and what she is doing now since being “executed” in the last episode. Kristen was taking a break in Chicago to visit with family before heading back to her home in Santa Monica, California. She had just been in Miami doing a photo shoot for a resort in the Florida Keys.

Her hectic lifestyle just doesn’t seem to slow down. She’s been busy for the last ten years accumulating four degrees, adding scientist and doctor titles to her name. So when she received the call that she was chosen for The Mole she jumped at the chance (to relax?).

Was it everything she thought it would be? Oh yes, and more, she said.

Kristen said she sort of knew what being on The Mole would be like from watching previous seasons such as the one with Kathy Griffin that kept her in stitches every episode. “I knew they had a waterfall mission in Hawaii where they went under the waterfall,” she said. “But, here we were in this remote part of South America jumping off of a waterfall on a raft … and in the Andes we went into a restaurant where they had pictures of Olympic skiers who had been there for training, but that was it, no one else ever goes there.”

Kristen’s not sure why she lost that last quiz and she said she is not very happy about missing out on the next episode’s bungee jump. But now she can get back to her normal life. If you can call being a neuroscientist and a runway and print model normal.

We know what a model does, and the 6-foot tall, 135-lb. stunning blonde does it well. But, what does a neuroscientist do?

“My specific role is to work on understanding the mechanisms that cause neuronal death,” Kristen told RealityBug.com.

And this means?

Kristen in her new occupation- modeling....

Well, once they understand what causes the breakdown only then can they figure out how to create solutions for better quality of life, slow the disease down or hopefully one day, prevent Parkinson’s disease and other neurological ailments altogether.

Having learned so much from her education, Kristen hopes one day to be a spokesperson for an organization that helps educate society on dietary and environmental factors that might lead to Parkinson’s disease. One such organization is the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research. Or perhaps she could host a science show for children; she said she hopes to share her knowledge with the world in a big way.

Could we see her on The Bachelorette one day? Probably not, she said. She is, however, ready to begin thinking of marriage and starting a family, now that she is done with her rigorous educational and work duties.

“This is the first time in my life I can consider it.”
