Boris Krutonog, Dogs former producer
Last Spring, Boris Krutonog, an actor who has appeared in movies such as the Hunt for Red October and the Italian Job, and TV's Star Trek: Voyager, sued A&E, accusing them of holding back his salary and cutting him out of royalties.
The Chapmans' claim that Krutonog was their agent and manager; a claim that upsets Krutonog because it's getting in the way of his legal action. "This is just incorrect," he says, "I was never his agent or manager." He insists he bought the rights to the TV bounty hunter's life story and is purely a producer of Dog The Bounty Hunter.
The actor, who is seeking US$800,000 in damages, adds, "They're trying to take my salary and say I was the agent. I wasn't."

But the Chapmans' lawyer, Marty Singer, stands by claims Krutonog was Dog's former agent and manager, adding: "(He) has made gratuitous, ridiculous and outrageous statements about his former clients. Mr. Krutonog was fired more than two years ago, after he refused to work on the series."
According to Dog's autobiography, "You Can Run But You Can't Hide," "this crazy Russian named Boris Krutonog" contacted Dog in 1995 to discuss developing a show based on his experiences. Dog credits Krutonog with getting the show off the ground. "Boris is one of of those Hollywood guys who started out acting in movies, including The Hunt for Red October and The Italian Job. He also had connections to get things done and deliver." Between 1995 and 2003, Krutonog developed what became "Dog the Bounty Hunter," court papers say. They say that to get his consent to produce and air the show, A&E agreed to pay him as co-executive producer "for the life of the program."
