Season 1
You will never look at a plate of crab legs the same after seeing Deadliest Catch Season One on DVD. The Discovery Channel hit reality show chronicles the unique yet dangerous career as a crab fisherman.
The men work in the Bering Sea and the stakes are higher than the tumultuous forty foot waves that crash against their ships. Imagine working 20 hour shifts in freezing temperatures, hauling pots of crabs on a slick ship deck that weighs over 600 pounds and maintaining a 100% injury rate. But working so hard has it rewards: a crab fisherman can earn a year’s worth of wages with just few days of work.
Join the brave fisherman and the cameramen who document them in this 5 DVD sets which includes all 10 episodes from the season and we get introduced to Sig Hansen, captain of top crab fishing vessel, the Northwestern.
Season 2
The Discovery Channel brings another installation of the lives of the brave crab fishermen who star in Deadliest Catch Season Two. The men are out again at sea determined to succeed against the harsh elements of Alaska and the Bering Sea.
In addition to Captain Sig Hansen from Season One, we become more acquainted with Phil Harris, captain of the Cornelia Marie and the crew of the Time Bandit with captains Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand.
In the “Heading Out to Sea” episode, we see how the crew of the fishing ships run under new regulations right at the start of the first King Crab season. The crew and cameramen work together to marshall their strength during a storm in the “Batten Down the Hatches” episode.
The job gets no less dangerous than it was in season one. Federal regulations come into play, resentments are aired from crew members on the boats, and we also get to experience the time-season rivalry between Sig Hansen and Phil Harris. Deadliest Catch Season Two is full of enough bravery and excitement that is sure to capture the attention and hearts of fans worldwide.
