Oddcast, Sweepstakes Offer Chances to Interact with Criss Angel

Oddcast, a media technology company, has teamed up with media agency The Visionaire Group to promote A&E’s Criss Angel: Mindfreak. Oddcast is probably best known for its speaking avatar platform SitePal, a kind of animated character designed to guide website users through a given site, offering tips and answering questions.

For Mindfreak, the New York based media tech company is supplying its 3D Videostar application. The new technology will allow users to upload photos of themselves which are then “mashed” into pre-recorded video clips, creating the illusion that the user is actually in the video. On the Oddcast site you can see this technology at work in a video where a user’s photo is grafted onto superman’s face.

Oddcast has been a part of promotional campaigns for Verizon wireless, Nokia, and the WEtv series Bridezillas. “It's worth the investment to engage consumers at this level,” Adi Sideman, president and CEO of Oddcast, said. In fact, an increasing number of advertisers and publishers have been interested in the technology in order to create an interactive experience for consumers. Last month, in an effort to promote the new Batman movie, users were able to commit themselves to Gotham city’s Arkham Insane Asylum through Oddcast’s 3D Videostar technology.

It seems just the kind of interactive and personalized content that Criss Angel fans adore, and Criss is sure to think of some creative ways to employ this new tech.
