Season 2
If Houdini reincarnated for the 21st century he might look like top illusionist Criss Angel (born Christopher Sarantakos). Truly, turn of the century ascots and derbys might be replaced by trendy clothing that looks as if he had a life-time shopping spree at Hot Topic. Angel has indeed cited the legendary magician as one of his heroes and has definitely captured that same quality Houdini himself had that make people go “how the heck did he do that?”

The dark-haired Mindfreak has thrilled audiences around the world with Criss Angel Mindfreak: The Complete Season Two on DVD based upon his eponomously titled hit reality show on A&E. In this three disc set, all the episodes from the season are shown with the marvelous illusions and stunts performed by Criss Angel: walking on water, being dragged by a speed boat, making elephants disappear and cutting in half not only himself but a bystander with a saw.

His most dramatic moments are sugared with cute interludes like him being silly in a zoo with the animals. If he ever gets tired of death-defying tricks, Criss can always moonlight as a psychic since stars like Ice Cube and Motley Crue’s Vince Neil were amazed by his mind reading in “Celebrity Minds”

Also included in this set are featurettes like “Teach a Trick” which shows Criss showing how to do some of his lightweight illusions. Another extras are commentaries on “Building a Float” and “In Two” episodes that gives Criss a chance to explain the preparation it takes to execute the stunts and possible challenges that may be present.

Yes if Houdini were reincarnated, he might look like Criss Angel. Or in an interesting twist, the roles may be reversed and Houdini may become Criss Angel’s biggest fan. He might even steal a trick or two.

Season 3
Jaws continue to drop in response to the stunts and illusions in Criss Angel Mindfreak: The Complete Season Three. Criss twists the normal perceptions of reality into a preztel as he achieves some awesome illusions like floating above a popular Las Vegas Casino or escaping from jail naked as a jay bird. Our Mindfreak has no time for card tricks or pulling rabbits out of hats; by doing the seemly impossible, he stretches our sense of what the human mind and body can do. It is like that time when people found out how to cook with fire, but much cooler.

Carrying on a tradition started in the first season, Criss Angel invites celebrities to share in the awe that he brings to audiences. This season, stars like comedian Jamie Kennedy, hip hop veteran Flavor Flav and fellow magician Jeff McBride are the guests of the Mindfreak himself.
