A quick Google search of Criss Angel Loyal gets you 83,700 sites to look at in .18 seconds. The Loyal are what Criss Angel fans are called. They are an interesting mix of people crossing a variety of demographics, but what is with their fascination with a mere magician.

The Loyal can pay to get a web site devoted to Criss and blog, post and express their true feelings for this mysterious magician. His fans run from a 30-something house wife to the 16 year old gothic teens who mimic his every fashion sense. Grown mothers in their late 40's giggle and exchange fantasy romance stories of their imagined relationship with this most fascinating man. His appeal as the magical bad boy seems irresistible. But is it just part of the illusion as well?

We are blessed to still have considerably free internet access, monitoring at this time for the average U.S. citizen is limited at best. Being free to post every idea, every rumor and every quick camera phone pic allows this wonderful rumor mill we call the World Wide Web, to take a mere magician and turn him into a mystical god. His questionable marital status in 07, his numerous starlet relationships and his bad boy attitude towards his current beloved’s competition makes him admirable and adorable. His sexy look along with this bad boy exterior creates the perfect untouchable hottie for everyone to admire.

The loyal have waited for days in the cold to stare at Angel in a Plexiglas tube. They have travelled across the world to see him walk between buildings in mid-air. Even spend $100's of dollars to wait in line to get the first tickets of his yet to open show with Cirque du Solei, Believe. Memorizing every detail of every illusion and being able to compare his performance stats to other would-be contenders for his bad boy crown is the minimum requirement for the title of Loyal.

What is it that drives the hearts and minds of the loyal, why do reports fear upsetting Angel for fear of the loyal's response? How can one man create such a wave of admiration amongst his followers?
