Biography
Laila is the one of the nine children of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. She had earned a business degree from Santa Monica College.
She entered boxing in the late nineties and competed in her first bout in 1999. It was the start of a very successful boxing career. She had eight consecutive wins and this encouraged fans to see her fight with Jackie Frazier-Lyde, who is the daughter of Joe Frazier who fought Muhammad Ali many years before. Laila Ali won that fight within eight rounds.
She won the WIBA (Women’s International Boxing Association) and IWBF (International Women’s Boxing Federation) belts in 2002, by beating world champion Valerie Mahfood in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has followed in her legendary father's footsteps and traveled the world to becoming one of the most successful woman boxer in history.
In her career to date, her record is 24-0 and she won 21 of them by knockouts. She is rated as a super middleweight.
