American Chopper Theme Restaurant to Open in KC

Steven Schussler

Steve Schussler, creator of Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex restaurant, and the Hot Dog Hall of Fame, has announced plans to develop a series of American Chopper inspired restaurants. Schussler, who is CEO of Schussler Creative (Motto: "Not just meals, but experiences") plans to open the first Orange County Choppers America’s RoadHouse in December of 2008 in Kansas City, Kansas.

The Company's website describes the restaurant as "... an amazing work of art, from the antique jukeboxes, to the antique motorcycles, to the present day choppers, along with the best of America’s RoadHouse cars. All these elements are mixed with art deco lighting and corrugated metals creating a place where families, Harley Davidson enthusiasts, BMW fans, men and women with tattoos, and grandparents with their grandchildren will come."

Artists Conception of the American Roadhouse

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will have a “bikes, blues and barbecue” theme with antique jukeboxes and motorcycles — some restored, some junkyard bikes, some customized by Orange County Choppers. It also will have a memorial display for Sept. 11, as Orange County Choppers does in its headquarters in Orange County, N.Y. Home-style comfort foods such as meat loaf, pot pie, roasted-in-the-husk corn on the cob will be featured along with such standards as burgers, hot dogs and fries.

The restaurant is partly named after the Orange County Chopper operation, along with its hit TV show “American Chopper.” Paul Teutul Sr. and his sons, Paul Teutul Jr. and Mikey Teutul will be featured and plan to visit often. Ten more America's RoadHouse restaurants are planned, though locations have yet to be announced.
